Netflix has canceled the mystery thriller 1899, the show’s creators Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar said in a joint statement on Instagram on Monday.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that 1899 will not be extended,” they said. “We would have loved to have completed this incredible journey with a second and third season, as we did with Dark. But sometimes things don’t go the way you planned.
‘So life is. We know this will disappoint millions of fans out there. But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of this wonderful adventure. We love you. Never forget.’
