A young skier was hospitalized after an accident on Sunday at the Val Saint-Côme ski resort, north of Lanaudière.
“At around 9.30 this morning, the ambulance service was called to an injured child at a ski center in the commune of Saint-Côme. According to initial information, the child was injured while using the T-shaped ski lift. He was transported to a hospital center where we fear for his life,” said Hélène Saint-Pierre, spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec.
“Investigators and the SQ’s forensic investigation service are on site to determine the root causes of the circumstances of the incident,” added Ms. St-Pierre.
In order to provide all the necessary support to its team, the ski resort has decided to close the mountain for the evening.
