The event happened around 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening on rue Hypolite Bernier, near Cégep de Lévis. An SPVL agent who was on patrol was then alerted by a passerby who witnessed an altercation.

At the scene, the patrol officer found that a man in his 20s had been hit with a baseball bat. Fortunately, he did not suffer any serious injuries.

“We don’t have the reason for the conflict, but it would be the second time these people have attacked the victim,” said Frédérique Fréchette, a police spokeswoman.

A man in his 30s struck the victim with the gun, but three other people – another man in his 30s and two women in their 20s – were also involved. They were all arrested on the spot.

Both women were eventually released unconditionally. One of the two men is due to appear on Wednesday, while the second was released on a promise.
