Unsurprisingly, it was Patrick Mahomes who picked up the title of MVP of the 2022 NFL season, but on Thursday night he preferred to pay tribute to his teammates just days before the Super Bowl.

The quarterback and the Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to win a second Super Bowl on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Missouri organization can count on an exceptional pivot in Mahomes.
“I understand how lucky I am to be part of this organization and to play with guys who are future Hall of Famers. Without you I would never be here now,” he shared on social media at the individual tribute gala.
“With everything we have achieved and have accomplished so far, we have another opportunity to achieve the ultimate goal: winning the Super Bowl. See you over the weekend,” Mahomes continued in a video released that evening.
The 27-year-old joined a select group of Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas, Kurt Warner, Steve Young and Joe Montana as the only quarterbacks to be named “MVP” at least twice.
“You’re way too much fun to watch. […] I hate to say it, but you’re my wife’s favorite quarterback. It makes me a little jealous,” said the bottom of that list, winner of three Vince Lombardi trophies with the San Francisco 49ers, in a video tribute.
Mahomes outdid himself in 2022 by completing 67.1% of his passes for 5,250 yards, 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He allowed the Chiefs to reach the ultimate meet for the third time in four years.
