1,148,700 lived on average in 2021 Women with a migrant background in Austria (24.4% of the total female population). The number of women with a migrant background has increased by 16.7% since 2017. 73.6 percent of women with a migrant background belonged to the “first generation” – they themselves were born abroad and moved to Austria. 26.4% of migrants are descended from parents born in Austria who were born abroad and are therefore considered “second generation”.
A total of 1,842,426 million people live in it with a foreign country of birth in Austria. 936,581 of them are women (50.8%), 905,845 of them are men (49.2%).
In 2021 there were a total of 16,171 naturalizations in Austria. 8002 (49.5%) of them affected women, 8169 men (50.5%).
