Forward Logan Cooley, who was drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the recent National League amateur auction, is also hoping to win the award. So does Adam Fantilli of the University of Michigan Wolverines, who should hear his name very early on in the next draft.

Hutson bit the dust for the NCAA East Player of the Year award, with Quebec’s Devon Levi – of the Buffalo Sabers and also for Hobey-Baker – having the last laugh. However, he did get the Rookie of the Year award. The 19-year-old skater played his freshman season with the Boston University Terriers, recording 12 goals and 32 assists for 44 points and maintaining a +23 difference in 34 games.

For his part, Farrell had 51 points, including 21 goals, in 31 games with Harvard. The one to finish his second varsity campaign was the 124th pick in the 2020 draft, while Hutson was the 62nd player to be called up in 2022.

Collin Graf, Blake Pietila, Yaniv Perets, Matthew Knies and Jason Polin are the other finalists for the award. Winner’s identity will be announced on April 8th.
