White Lotus star F Murray Abraham, 83, has been pulled from the AppleTV+ show Mythic Quest after at least two sexual misconduct complaints were filed against the Oscar winner

  • Abraham retired from the role in April last year, but the reasons for the move weren’t clear at the time
  • He has been accused of two separate incidents of sexual misconduct, although it is not clear who made the allegations
  • The show’s creator, Rob McElhenney, said at the time that his departure was a “disappointment”.

White Lotus star F. Murray Abraham was dropped from an Apple TV+ series last year after two sexual misconduct complaints were filed against him.

The 83-year-old Oscar winner was suddenly announced last April that he was leaving Mythic Quest – which Roll Stone confirmed came from the complaints.

At least two complaints were filed against Abraham, the first of which resulted in him being cautioned and told to stay away from some of the shows’ actresses.

A production source told Rolling Stone that the actor was fired after Rob McElhenney – who created the show – was made aware of the second incident.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Lionsgate said: “We take allegations of misconduct seriously and are investigating them thoroughly.

At the time, Abraham did not comment, the producing studio merely confirming that he would be retiring from the show.

It’s unclear exactly who made the allegations against the star that caused him to leave.

McElhenney, Abraham and Apple TV+ did not immediately respond to requests for comment from .

Abraham joined the comedy series as CW Longbottom and was killed in the Season 3 premiere, which aired in November.

He drove off a cliff into the Grand Canyon in a Thunderbird after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Speaking to Variety at the time of announcing his departure, McElhenney said, “It’s a shame not to have Murray with us this season.

“But we know the CW is a beloved character and obviously a huge part of the show.

“So we made sure we had a really fitting tribute to him. We’re definitely going to do it big.”

He landed a role in the second season of HBO’s White Lotus and appeared in Netflix’s upcoming anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

On the show, he was constantly snubbed for making inappropriate comments about women – before shrugging them off and saying he’s from an older generation.
