Launch of BonApp: a digital platform to visit local agricultural producers

A new digital platform offers an opportunity to promote Quebec’s agri-food producers

Launched on Tuesday, this new tool includes an interactive map that offers the possibility of independent visits as well as exclusive offers. Priced at $46, the BonApp Gourmet Passport includes 10 tastings of local products from 10 producers to be discovered by those in their forties. The passport is available on the website www.bonappetitqc.com.

This is an initiative of two entrepreneurs, Sophie Tremblay-Parent and Emmy Lapointe, founders of Bon appétit Qc, which runs the new platform.

This young company is dedicated to the promotion of agritourism, offering unique, unforgettable and authentic experiences in the world of gourmet tourism and agritourism through various projects including the Digital Gourmet Pass.

“It’s not an app. It is a website that has the same characteristics as an application. People are a little tired of downloading apps. We went for something simple,” explained Ms. Lapointe, co-founder.

“The idea came naturally as Sophie had her business in gourmet guided tours and I had my business in food photography. We both saw that the producers lacked visibility,” added Ms. Lapointe.

Thanks to the passport, it is possible to make a personalized choice according to your interests through an interactive map: vineyards, cheese factories, distilleries, bakeries, farms, etc.

In this inaugural year, the agritourism project brings together primarily eastern Quebec producers via Bas-St-Laurent, Gaspésie, Charlevoix, Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and the North Coast. Within three years, BonApp wants to bring together several hundred producers across the province.

“People don’t always know that they exist, where they are exactly, or even that it’s possible to go there and visit them. We want to remove this barrier and highlight all producers with a very up-to-date and attractive tool,” adds Sophie Tremblay-Parent, also co-founder.
