[À VOIR] PGA of America Championship: Unhappy, Jordan Spieth crowns himself on court

ROCHESTER | Sensitive ears, please refrain. Because the words of Jordan Spieth, one of the most popular golfers in the public, could border on a lot.

The 29-year-old American learned a new language at Oak Hill this morning and dropped his cute, familiar swear words! (“Gosh!”) and damn it! (“Shit!”) if he misses a shot.

After hitting his first tee right into a cluster of chemical toilets about 215 yards from the tee, to the left of the first hole fairway, Spieth used relief to throw his second shot. This hit a tree 80 yards from the green.

The three-time Grand Slam winner obviously started the day off on the wrong foot and then, to keep the dry toilet theme alive, exclaimed, “Holy shit, Jordan.” We could then translate that to “Holy shit, Jordan.”

That’s not all. After a bogey at the first pennant and a birdie at the second pennant, Spieth dropped another pearl on the mound of the long par 3 of the third pennant.

Coming straight from the heart, he raced after an erratic 189-yard shot that bounced into the pit in front of the green. The nearby microphone and cameras obviously captured all the footage.

“Damn, you fired off a damn good iron shot,” he said, and exploded. We’ll let you translate the crazy sequence to your liking! This apparently went viral on social media in the morning.

It’s not the first time the career winner of 13 PGA Tour titles has been so upset. A month ago in Augusta, when he walked the aisle in 18th place in the finals of the Masters tournament, Spieth spoke to himself in flowery language, to say the least.

“Give me a slap, a damn slap. Give me a swing, a damn swing,” he’d dropped unhappily, repeating a swear word that began with the letter “F” in Shakespeare’s language.

Spieth still managed to sign a 71(+1) card, despite the numerous rains this morning and his left wrist injury. His overall record of +6 tentatively places him in 48th place.

And he’s not the only one who had it all this morning on the tricky Oak Hill circuit, stringing the swear words together.
