What are the current affairs of Linha Direta?
Today’s hotline (29) looks at two shocking cases that led to family tragedies. One of them took place in the capital Rio de Janeiro and is about poisoning, another inland from Paraná is about a triple murder motivated by jealousy.
Stepmother suspected of poisoning stepdaughter
Linha Direta first presents the case of two cases of poisoning in Rio de Janeiro. Fernanda Cabral, only 22 years old, fell ill after having a snack at home, was hospitalized for 13 days and died on March 27, 2022. The family was greatly shocked at Fernanda’s untimely death and the cause was poisoning.
The turning point in the case begins two months after Fernanda’s hospitalization when Bruno Cabral, her brother, was invited to a family dinner. The invitation came from stepmother Cintia Mariano Dias Cabral.

That day, after eating the beans prepared by Cintia, the boy felt a strange taste in the food and some blue balls on the plate. She then began to feel ill, experiencing the same symptoms Fernanda experienced when she was admitted to the hospital.
When he was taken to the hospital, Bruno’s mother warned the medical team that he might have been poisoned. Doctors began gastric lavage and found a strange substance in the young man’s stomach.
It was from this event that the first hints of Fernanda’s sudden death began to appear. According to investigators, Cintia Mariano is the prime suspect in poisoning Bruno.
Despite the evidence, it remains to be determined whether Fernanda was also poisoned. Currently, Cintia remains in custody pending trial, which has not yet been set a date.

Man kills three members of same family out of jealousy
This Thursday (29) Linha Direta also talks about a story of ownership that ended in tragedy. Ruan dos Santos Martins, 25 years old, killed his brotherinlaw Wagner de Oliveira dos Santos, 29 years old, his motherinlaw Dorli da Aparecida de Oliveira, 51 years old, and; his partner’s cousin, Valdenilson Sebastião de Pontes, 25 years old. According to the investigation, a jealousy crisis prompted the boy to commit the crime in Reserva, in inland Paraná.
Ruan and his partner Amanda de Fátima Oliveira dos Santos had been together for a year, but the relationship was marred by conflict. In the early hours of May 1 of that year, they started an argument in the family pub, and then the man went to Dorli’s house and executed her and her brotherinlaw Wagner. He then went to the third victim’s house and killed Valdenilson.
The man remains on the run and Linha Direta enlists the public’s help in finding him. If you have information on his location, just call 181 from anywhere in Brazil.

The Linha Direta on June 29th will be shown directly after the Cine Holliúdy series. According to the TV Globo schedule, the show, hosted by Pedro Bial, is scheduled to start at 10:55 p.m. Brazilian time.

Who is the host of the show?
Pedro Bial has been the presenter of Linha Direta since the show returned on TV Globo in May 2023. In previous editions, the program was hosted by journalists Hélio Costa, Marcelo Rezende and Domingos Meirelles in the 90s and 2000s.
