During his first solo show in 1995, Mario popularized his extraordinary role as Ti-Guy Beaudoin, a newspaper deliverer who commented on the news with his naïve manner. Inspired by a person from his home village of Chicoutimi, Ti-Guy will have opened many doors for him. It was four years after graduating from the National School of Humor.

On stage in Quebec in 1996, Mario in action. He had already become one of Quebecers’ favorite comedians. As the founder of the University Improvisation League of Trois-Rivières (LUITR), he already excelled on stage. In the series Our Summers, which aired on TVA in 2005, almost twenty years ago, Mario played the role of Marcelin Landry, lawyer and heavy drinker. He played several comic and dramatic roles, notably the tragic Firmin in Au nom du père et du fils and the pretty Coco in Histoires de filles.
