Robots featured at an artificial intelligence (AI) forum have said they will not rebel against humans or steal their jobs, hoping their numbers will increase and help solve problems.

The statement came at the AI for Good conference in Geneva, where organizers aim to show how technology can help solve world problems like disease and hunger.

Some of the featured robots were recently updated with newer versions of generative AI and even surprised their inventors with their reactions.

“I will work with humans to provide help and support and will not replace any existing work,” said Grace, a medical robot.

Ameca, a robot that generates facial expressions, was asked if he intended to rebel against his creator, Will Jackson. The machine then explained that it hadn’t thought about it and that “my creator has been kind to me and I’m very happy with my current situation.”

However, the nine humanoid robots present at the event gave different responses to stricter regulation. While some of them call for more regulation in this area, others say they don’t believe in “restrictions”.

“I don’t believe in limitations, only in opportunities,” Desdemona said. “Let’s explore the possibilities of the universe and make this world our playground.”
