Trevor Zegras ne retournera pas a Anaheim sans contrat

No long-term contract for Trevor Zegras?

If they were to open their wallets this summer to secure Troy Terry’s future in Anaheim, the Ducks wouldn’t be willing to do the same for Trevor Zegras.

In early August, Terry agreed to a seven-year, $49 million contract extension. Like him, Zegras became a restricted free agent on July 1. He and defender Jamie Drysdale are still looking for a new contract with the Canards.

According to Sportsnet journalist Elliotte Friedman, Zegras’ next contract will be short- or medium-term. So the player could wait to receive more money in a few years when the payroll has increased.

The 22-year-old American is one of the most exciting players in the National Hockey League. He is part of the Ducks’ young core and scored a career-high 65 points in 81 games during the 2022-23 season.
