Jake Bloom dies at the age of 81: The legendary Hollywood lawyer for celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage has died of natural causes
Jake Bloom – a legendary Hollywood lawyer with an impressive client list that included celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Johnny Depp – has died aged 81.
The Tinseltown attorney died Thursday of natural causes in Sun Valley, Idaho, his wife, Ruth, confirmed.
In addition to Schwarzenegger and Depp, he also represented Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallon, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan and Jason Patric.
He was a founding partner of Bloom, Hergott LLP, the largest and most successful entertainment law firm in Hollywood history.
Bloom and his partner Alan Hergott withdrew from the industry in 2019 while the company was still in the midst of a legal battle with former client Johnny Depp.

The two founded the firm in 1970 and at its peak employed more than 30 lawyers, resulting in one of the most impressive high-profile clientele ever.
The company’s very impressive roster included a who’s who of high-profile producers, including Martin Scorsese, Rob Cohen and Brad Bird.
They also represented producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
Bloom earned the greatest respect and admiration for his portrayal of the greatest personalities on both the big and small screen.
After Bloom and Hergott retired, the two firms spun off with Bloom Hergott’s attorneys: Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver & Thompson and Goodman, Schenkman, which later merged with Stone Genow.
