8 Montérégie artists take off their clothes to live an immersive experience – Salut Bonjour

Very often the only witness to the creative process is its creator. But between consolidating an idea, mastering techniques, and consecrating a work, there is so much to observe and learn. You don’t have to be a scholar to study art: here’s the proof.

Have you ever wondered what goes on in an artist’s mind when they develop a creative project? This is exactly what the Vitrine Virtual Montérégienne (VVM), a new virtual 3D space dedicated exclusively to art, aims to understand.

Available from September 11th on computers, tablets and smartphones, this space will highlight the work of 8 artists from Montérégie. The goal ? Create a virtual cultural gathering where they can tell their stories however they want.

Since each artist has their own approach, they will have their respective space to express themselves. They are intended to convey the thoughts that accompany the development of a creative idea, be it through videos, photos, texts or music.

During the eight weeks of this residency, the artists will open the doors of their refuge – an often inaccessible place – allowing virtual visitors to witness every step of their process as well as the highs and lows that stem from their artistic approach.

During the virtual meetings, visitors will notice that certain works have been completed and others are still in development. No matter: Here the focus will be more on the journey that leads to the goal.

Thanks to the support of the Government of Quebec and Quebecor’s media platforms, Culture Montérégie launched this project with a clear intention: to support, develop and promote the culture of the region. The group submitted creative projects proposed by Montérégie professionals to a jury of peers.

To be selected, artists had to demonstrate their ability to create a work in one or more artistic disciplines such as performing arts, literature, visual arts, cinema or crafts.

At the end of this rigorous process, the eight lucky winners are: Geneviève Cadieux-Langlois (fine art specialist), Gabrielle Desmarais (contemporary jeweler), Janou-Eve LeGuerrier (illustrator), Élise Morin (aerial dancer), Joanie Papillon (specialist). of performing arts), Catherine Savoie (musical theater performer), Carl Veilleux (puppeteer) and Roman Zavada (pianist).

News from the 8 artists will be shared every week on the interactive platform, so everyone can be at the forefront of their work. The content then remains accessible in 3D for 12 months after online publication.
