CF Montreal has reportedly terminated midfielder Matko Miljevic’s contract as a result of his recent escapades in an amateur league in Laval.
At least that’s what columnist and TVA Sports contributor Tony Marinaro reported Sunday afternoon.
The 22-year-old Argentine, who hasn’t had much playing time for the team this season, was completely ruled out of Saturday night’s game against the Chicago Fire.
Recall that Miljevic took part in three matches of the Quebec Calcetto Soccer League (QCSL) under an assumed name and that, according to the website danslescoulisses.com, he allegedly punched a player in this amateur circuit in the face.
The MLS has also launched an investigation into the issue, but it appears the Montreal club wasted no time in letting go of the player acquired in the 2021 season.
