Ex-boxer David Lemieux claims he is still incomprehensible just over a year after a man’s murderous escape in Montreal that left three victims dead, including his father.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, he claims to still have many unanswered questions related to the murder of his father André Fernand Lemieux on August 2, 2022 in Saint-Laurent.
Abdulla Shaikh, 26, was shot dead by police on August 4, 2022 after an intense hunt that resulted in three deaths.
Shaikh’s extensive psychiatric journey was made public in the media a few days after the incident. Although the Mental Disorders Review Board (CETM) deemed him “a significant threat to public safety,” it granted him his freedom.
“They say it could have been anyone…Whether it was my father…when they knocked on my door at 6 a.m. and I woke up and they told me my father had been shot…I couldn’t” I don’t understand how or why,” admits David Lemieux.

The former boxer still cannot understand why Abdulla Shaikh was released.
“Why was he able to get free, get a gun and kill three people? And how can we prevent this from happening again? “, he asks himself.
The coroner’s public inquest will begin on September 25 to shed light on the matter, almost 14 months after that hunt in which a total of four people died.
