The father of the little Granby girl is again contacting the Parole Board of Canada. A hearing will be held on November 30, the commission said by email. He was able to apply six months after an initial rejection.
In September, he was rejected by the Commission’s Appellate Division, which denied his requests for parole and conditional release.
Remember, the man whose name Radio-Canada has to keep secret because of a publication ban appealed an initial commission decision last spring. He was sentenced to four years in prison for the kidnapping of his seven-year-old daughter after pleading guilty to kidnapping.
In an initial decision last spring, the commission concluded that he was not ready and that, even if he had made progress since his incarceration, he was still unable to explain the violence he committed against his daughter had done.
The little girl from Granby died in tragic circumstances in April 2019 at the age of seven.
For her part, the little girl’s stepmother was found guilty by a jury of kidnapping and premeditated murder of the child. She received a life sentence without the possibility of parole for 13 years.
In January 2022, she appealed her conviction and sentence.
