The Astros win Game 1

Despite an attempt to come back in the seventh inning, the Minnesota Twins trailed 1-0 in their series against the Houston Astros after losing 6-4 on Saturday.

The start of the game was fatal for the Twins, as they fell behind 0-5 after five innings.

Still, they woke up in the seventh inning when Twins shortstop Jorge Polanco stretched his arms for three runs. His teammate Royce Lewis then followed suit and reduced the score to 5:4.

However, it was too little, too late as the Astros hit a home run later in the inning, thanks to Yordan Alvarez for his second grand slam of the game.

Justin Verlandez (1-0), the Stars’ starter, was particularly skilled and only allowed four hits. He also struck out six opponents in six innings.

The Quebecer Édouard Julien was very calm in this first duel between the two teams, brought the ball to safety once and also scored a walk.

Minnesota will have a chance to return the favor on Sunday.
