Selena Gomez, 31, says ‘very wise’ sister Gracie, 10, ‘helps’ her on difficult mental health days despite age difference: ‘I love her advice’

Selena Gomez revealed that she turns to her younger sister Gracie Teefey when she needs to focus on her mental well-being.

The 31-year-old star of “The Only Murders In The Building” opened up about leaning on her 10-year-old sister during “bad days” in a new interview with her organization Wondermind to mark World Mental Health Day on Tuesday.

When asked what she likes to do when she takes a “mental health day,” Selena replied, “Spending time with my little sister Gracie.”

“She’s so innocent and pure. She helps me keep track of life,” the singer added. “It’s funny because she’s 10; I’m 31 and despite the big age difference, I love her advice. She is very wise.’

As for how Selena can tell when she needs the love of her little sister Gracie, the actress explained, “Usually in the first 10 minutes of the day I can tell how my day is going to go.”

Gracie is the younger daughter of Selena’s mother Mandy Teefey and her stepfather Brian Teefey.

Selena starred in Wizards of Waverley Place at the age of 21 when Mandy and Brian welcomed Gracie.

She also has a half-sister Victoria, 7, through her father Rick Gomez and his wife Sara, who also occasionally appears on her social media platforms.

In addition to the Wondermind interview, to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day, Selena also took to her Instagram to tell fans that Sephora is donating 100% of sales of Selena’s Rare Beauty makeup to the Rare Impact Fund for 24 hours .

“It would mean the world to me if you joined us in expanding access to mental health resources and support for young people around the world,” Selena wrote alongside a stunning photo of herself wearing a Rare Impact holding up sticker.

This isn’t the first time Selena — who is also co-founder and chief impact officer of Wondermind — has used her platform to raise awareness about mental health.

In fact, Selena was a guest speaker at the Mental Health Youth Action Forum in May 2022, where she attempted to destigmatize the topic by sharing her own story, including being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in her 20s.

“Once I figured out what was going on mentally, I felt like I had more freedom to deal with what I had because I was learning about it,” she said at the time.

“It can be helpful to bring attention to mental health by using the media or simply talking about your travels.”

She concluded: “Mental health is personal to me and I hope that by using my platform to share my own story and collaborating with incredible people like you, I can help everyone else feel less alone and reach out for help find the ones they need, “honestly anything I want.”
