The Digital Foundry channel released its technical analysis of Marvel’s SpiderMan 2 along with the embargo lifting.
details
- The level of detail has been significantly improved;
- All game modes use ray tracing;
- The density of the crime scene has increased significantly, for example there are many more civilians and cars;
- The details of the city are much more varied;
- The game loads incredibly quickly;
- The game takes advantage of the hardware to create scenarios that were not possible in the original.
- The game uses the hardware for much faster movement;
- Cars now have a proper suspension system;
- All bodies of water now feature raytraced reflections, a huge improvement over the first remaster;
- Ray tracing has been improved, “nothing else comes close”;
- VFX are also reflected via ray tracing;
- The attention to detail, such as: B. different outfits depending on the day, comes into its own here;
- Added sound propagation.
Resolution and frame rate (fps)
Without VRR:
- Quality (4K ~ 1440p) at 30 frames per second
- Performance (1440p ~ 1008p) at 60 fps
Without VRR and 120 Hz:
- Quality (4K ~ 1440p) at 30 frames per second
- Performance (1440p ~ 1008p) at 60 fps
- 120 Hz automatic mode with 40 frames per second
With VRR display and 120 Hz:
- Smooth or unlimited frame rate unlock options
- The “Smooth” option simply maintains the FPS cap and compensates for any drops in frame rate
- Quality at >40 fps
- Performance at >60 fps (up to 80 fps has been achieved)
- In unlimited mode, dynamic resolution may drop (936p was observed).
