WWE announces plans to host its first premium live event in Germany, Bash in Berlin, adding to its recent successes in Europe with record-breaking shows Clash and the Castle and Money in the Bank

  • WWE has confirmed plans to host its first premium live event in Germany
  • It follows on from the great success of international live events last year
  • This includes the special trip to the UK with Money in the Bank this summer

WWE has confirmed plans to host its first major premium live event in Germany.

The event is scheduled to take place on August 31, 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin and follows a successful 12 months in Europe.

The announcement of Bash In Berlin in collaboration with Live Nation follows a big year of international live events that include Montreal’s Elimination Chamber, Puerto Rico’s Backlash and Jeddah’s Night of Champions.

Another major international event saw the WWE return to the UK this summer with Money in the Bank at the O2 Arena.

The promotion also staged its first UK stadium show in 30 years when Clash At The Castle came to Cardiff last year.

Due to the popularity of the last two major events outside of North America, WWE decided to add another premium live event in Europe.

Although the event isn’t scheduled to take place until next year, fans are hoping to catch a glimpse of artists like Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, LA Knight and many more

As mentioned, WWE has had great success in Europe recently. Their trip to the O2 with Money in the Bank was England’s first major pay-per-view in over 20 years.

John Cena made a surprise visit to the O2 Arena and suggested that WWE should hold a WrestleMania in the UK for the first time ever, given the UK’s enthusiastic fan base.

“First of all, I want to thank John Cena for just putting me in an unenviable position,” Triple H told reporters at the post-show press conference when asked about the possibility of hosting WWE’s premier event in 2020 to hold the United Kingdom.

“No matter what I say, I’ll get beaten for it.” Look, like I said, I’ve been coming here since the early 90s and it’s spectacular.

“As far as WrestleMania goes, it’s tough. I wish it were that easy. I wish it was as easy as saying, “Man, this is phenomenal. Let’s go.” We would visit many places.

“We want to be a global company. We want to be global. So never say never to any of this, right? The intention is there.’

While it remains unlikely that WWE will host a WrestleMania outside of North America, the European fan base has shown that there is a real market for hosting many more major events in Europe.

Alongside Cena, the likes of Logan Paul and Roman Reigns also appeared during the promotional trip to England – which just goes to show that there is real interest in hosting many more events in Europe.

The promotion is currently underway in Germany for a tour that begins tonight in Europe and is scheduled to end at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on Saturday, October 28th.
