For example, now you can check the balance of EBT cards on your mobile phone or other device. As we know, eligible California residents receive their financial benefits through an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, known as the Golden State Advantage. But how to check your account balance?
About two years ago, in March 2022, beneficiaries who had applied for replacement cards actually received them. The new plastic has technology that makes its performance safer. For example, the PIN must be identical to that of your previous card. It is just recommended to activate it as soon as you make a purchase or withdraw cash.
30 days to activate the EBT card
Anyone who receives a new EBT card only has 30 days to activate it before the old card no longer works. If you still have questions about this process, you can contact the EBT hotline at (877) 328-9677 and (866) 613-3777.
How do I check account balance? There are two ways to do this through different applications: ConnectEBT and Providers. In both cases they are available for Android and iOS. First, register your EBT account and choose your user ID and password. Once you’ve done this, have the card ready.
The provider apk allows you to check the balance of your registered EBT card. You also have the opportunity to review your spending history and find the stores that accept your benefits as a payment method.
Meanwhile, ConnectEBT is better linked to your SNAP benefits. Not only can you view your balance and transaction history for up to 15 months, but you can also change your PIN. As if that wasn’t enough, you have the option to report damaged, lost or stolen cards and request a replacement card by mail.
