The road to winter is not straight. Forecast.
Cold November
Quebec has been experiencing a cold spell since the beginning of November. Temperatures are close to normal or slightly below normal. A persistent trough allows arctic air to penetrate the province. However, the news for next week is encouraging. Heading into winter might require a detour.
A hint of sweetness
By the middle of next week, a stronger ridge in the west of the province would cause the mild weather to spread to Quebec. Temperatures worthy of late September are expected in southern Ontario. In Belle Province, the mercury would rise above the seasonal average for several days.
Nice sequence
For southern Quebec, models suggest maximum temperatures would be closer to 10°C. If these temperatures appear moderate, the passage of a low pressure system to the northwest, for example, could be enough to blow this very mild air into the Quebec area. In southern Ontario, the mercury could reach 20°C in places. Remember that the last 10°C occurs on average around the end of November in several regions of Quebec.
The cold is not far away
A return to reality is expected towards the end of the month in terms of temperatures. Quebec should return to an atmospheric low point that would allow the cold to take hold again. Additionally, the strong winds aloft would create a favorable trajectory for storms to pass through.
