Nicole Kidman reveals she had plans to retire from acting before filming Big Little Lies – and delights fans by announcing a third season

Nicole Kidman was planning on retiring from acting before signing on the HBO series Big Little Lies.

The Oscar-winning actress, 56, made the revelation at a golf event in the US, which was later published by Deux Moi.

‘I loved [the show] “Because it kind of came at a time in my life when I had my kids and I thought I was going to retire,” she said in the clip.

The “Hours” star said that when her Oscar co-star Reese Witherspoon came by, she was excited about the show.

“It came to this situation where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce and create this show.”

The series is about five wealthy women who become involved in a murder investigation. The series received critical acclaim.

Earlier this year, the show’s executive producer Bruna Papandrea told Deadline: “I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately,” she said.
