Brewers prospect collects $82 million without playing a single game

The Milwaukee Brewers obviously have a lot of confidence in Jackson Chourio.

They offered him an eight-year contract worth $82 million that could pay him up to $142.5 million, ESPN learned Sunday.

This is the highest amount of money guaranteed for a player who has not played a single game in Major League Baseball. In addition, the Venezuelan is only 19 years old.

According to ESPN, Chourio is the third-best candidate in the Manfred circuit. He has been with the Brewers organization since 2021.

Last season he played primarily at the AA level. In 122 games, he had a .280 batting average, hit 22 home runs and produced 89 runs.
