EXPANSION: At least 20 dead in Israeli air strikes on northern Gaza Strip

GAZA, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — The Israeli army launched airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, killing at least 20 people, the Gaza Strip reported on Sunday. The official Palestinian news agency WAFA.

According to the report, dozens of injured people were taken to hospitals, many of them in serious condition.

Local sources told Xinhua that many people were still under the rubble and the death toll could rise.

The number of Palestinians killed in the current Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip rose to 22,835 and the number of wounded rose to 58,416, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said today.

In a press release, the ministry said the Israeli military “launched 12 attacks on families in the Gaza Strip, killing 133 Palestinians and wounding 250 others in the last 24 hours.”
