A veterinary clinic in Britain performed surgery to help a dog who was born with many legs and was abandoned in a parking lot.
The puppy was found in Wales in September, the BBC and PA news agency reported on Saturday. The dog was taken in by an animal protection organization and a foster family.
Abandoned in a parking lot: Doctors help six-legged dog
The dog was named “Ariel” – after the classic Disney film, because its partially fused hind legs resembled a mermaid's tail. The extra legs were removed during an operation.

“We are delighted that such an incredible dog has recovered so well from surgery,” the clinic director at Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital told the PA news agency. According to reports from the BBC and Sky News, several thousand pounds in donations were raised for the animal, which had six legs, as well as other deformities.
