Kaley Cuoco has revealed that her beloved rescue dog King has died – 18 months after he was adopted by actress and partner Tom Pelphrey.
The 38-year-old “Big Bang Theory” star announced the loss of her older dog on Thursday – King was the first dog she adopted with 41-year-old Pelphrey.
The couple rescued him from an Atlanta animal shelter while Cuoco was pregnant with their daughter Matilda and Pelphrey was shooting in the city.
Cuoco wrote, “There are no words to describe our favorite little Kingy. “He was the first dog @tommypelphrey and I rescued together and honestly the most special.”
“I saw him online shaking at a shelter in Atlanta while I was in Germany and asked the shelter to hold him because we just had to have him.”
“A month later we were in Atlanta for Tom’s work and spent a whole day driving to pick up King. “It was ♥️!”

Kaley shared several photos from King's life, including a photo with Matilda and one of King hanging out with the couple's other dogs, Miss Opal, Ruby, Blueberry, Larry, Red and Shirley.
Kaley added, “We didn't have him nearly long enough.” What started out as a 6-pound, skinny, no-water-drinking, furry and anxious dog turned into a chubby, hilarious, fall-on-side, eye-kissing part of ours Family.
“The hardest part about adopting seniors with medical issues is that we really don't know how much time we have.” All I know is that Kingy has brought us the most joy in the last six months and we couldn't love him more.
“Thank you to everyone who helped Kingy on her journey.” I challenge you to save your next best friend. He left his paw print forever in the hearts of our family.
Over the summer, King had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a foxtail from inside him that would kill him for just a few hours.
At the time, the Oh Norman founder issued a stern warning to “all my dog lovers out there” on her Instagram Stories.
“This is a foxtail,” she wrote over a picture of the plant lying on her leg.
“They are extremely dangerous to animals, especially dogs.” We've spent the last two months trying to figure out what was going on [with] “our king,” she continued.
“He was seriously ill and nothing helped,” she continued. “Lots of vet appointments, surgeries and endless medications. “I finally found a specialist who found two of these in his body just days before they would have pierced his heart!!'
“He's doing soooo much better but as you can see he has a lot of stitches after super intense surgery…” she wrote over the photo.
“Please also note that these must be removed surgically. “They do not heal on their own!'
“Take care of your pets or don’t have one!” she wrote. “We are so grateful that he is well and will live a long, happy life,” she wrote.
In a post for her company Oh Norman, Cuoco introduced King, calling him “From rescue to king, the one and only King Cuoco-Pelphrey.”
