As part of this new in-studio episode, our presenters Antoine Joubert and Mathieu Roy explore the question: could Chevrolet market the Montana pickup to compete with the Ford Maverick?
For those unfamiliar with the Chevrolet Montana, a little background is in order. “It’s a very small van that’s sold in the South American market and in some emerging countries,” explains Antoine. He specifies that it is actually a “ute”, i.e. a van without an extended cabin that can accommodate two or three passengers.
In terms of size, the Montana is comparable to a small car. “It really is a pure pickup truck. It couldn’t be used as a family vehicle,” says Antoine. He goes on to say that the Montana doesn’t have the same calling as the Maverick.

“This is not a vehicle that could be successful with us,” says the columnist.
