Neil Diamond sang his classic Sweet Caroline during the Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at Fenway Park on Saturday.
The legendary singer, 81, performed the 1969 song for the first time in nine years at the ballpark, where the song has been a staple for the past 25 years as the team plays it during the eighth inning.
The New York native last sang on April 20, 2013 at the famous ballpark, the Red Sox’s first home game after the Boston Marathon bombing.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer wore a red Red Sox Letterman jacket with black and white sleeves as he sang his classic alongside Broadway star Will Swenson.
Diamond said in a tweet on Sunday, “Thank you @thewillswenson and the cast of @beautifulnoise for singing with me at Fenway last night! “Good times never seemed so good!”‘
The performance received positive reactions on social media, with one user saying: “I’m glad to see Mr Diamond doing what he does best, especially since he battled Parkinson’s.”

Diamond took to Twitter after the well-received outing
He said in a January 22, 2018 statement on his website: “It is with great reluctance and disappointment that I announce my retirement from the concert tour.
“I’m honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years.”
Diamond said Parkinson’s disease “has made it difficult to travel and perform on a large scale,” adding that he planned to “stay active with writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come.”
