Marcos Oliveira, 66, the eternal Beiçola of “A Grande Família” (TV Globo), celebrated his return to television. The actor can be seen on SBT’s soap opera ‘Poliana Moça’ starting tonight in the performance he recorded prior to his hospitalization for surgery to treat a fistula in his urethra. Returning to screens, he’s celebrating the opportunity to be seen again for his work.
In the series, the actor brings to life Romeu, the owner of an abandoned amusement park who is struggling to let go of the past. With the exhibition of scenes in “Poliana Moça”, Marcos celebrates the opportunity to go back to television and show his artistic side.
“It was really cool, it was really good. The best thing we have in life is work. It’s not so much commitment to things as success… But the cool thing is that you have a good job that people like,” Marcos said in an interview with the Extra newspaper.
He even spoke of wanting to be seen in various roles on television. “It’s a different job. I don’t just want to be a pastry chef, I want to do other things in my life, like this character.”
The actor, who was admitted to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, underwent surgery on Tuesday (12) and is now in the unit’s infirmary. The artist thanked colleagues and fans for the support on social media.
“I had the surgery and am recovering on the ward. Now it’s time to wait for healing and go home to complete recovery. Then back to work,” the actor said via Instagram Stories.
The actor, who is struggling financially, even asked fans for help finding treatment. In the artist’s situation, he received help from Tatá Werneck, with whom he worked on the soap opera “Deus Salve o Rei” (2018).
“Tatá was very generous to me. But I have to pay for everything else. Everyone gives what they can. Any amount is welcome, ”said Marcos about the contact in the social networks. He confirmed that the “Lady Night” host helped him get health insurance.
“Times When It Hurts A Lot”
The actor vented about the health issue during an interview with the Inteligência Ltda podcast in November 2021. He recalls constant infections from the fistula, which consists of the creation of a canal between normally connected body structures.
“There are times when it hurts a lot. It’s always bad to pee because there’s always some leakage from behind (through the anus). I have to use tampons,” he said.
“I have faced this problem for 30 years. I’ve had quite a few surgeries but there was no technique to deal with them. You cannot move through the urethra. Now, with new techniques, they put a graft in the canal,” he concluded.
When he first opened up about the disease in 2016, Marcos Oliveira told RecordTV’s “Domingo Show” that he had unsuccessfully spent BRL 85,000 to treat the problem.
blood sugar
Marcos Oliveira stated that, in addition to the fistula in his urethra, he also had financial problems because he could not work. The former member of “A Grande Família” even made his Pix key available for donations from fans.
“Gradually, with the help, I can sort things out and pay my bills. […] It’s a very big fight,” he said on social media.
Also on Spectacular Sunday, the actor said he takes about 40 medications a day with the help of the SUS (Unified Health System). “I’m Brazilian, I’ve paid my taxes and I need it”.
“The problem is all in the blood sugar. Mine was high and the doctor has already said he is not operating on high blood sugar. I want to fight to solve all this and sing, interpret and make people happy again,” he explains of the process.
