Caracas-. Venezuela is working today within the United Nations (UN) organizations to consolidate the defense of human rights, assured the permanent representative of this South American country to the multilateral entity, Héctor Constant.
The diplomat announced that he had held several working meetings with UN officials, including Morris Tidball-Binz, Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, to pursue these goals; Edgar Corzo and Pablo García, President and Member respectively of the Committee on the Protection of Migrant Workers.
Constant, who also represents his country before other international organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, published photos of the various meetings on the social network Twitter.
He stressed that the Bolivarian government is able to achieve the full application of human rights in all committees to which it belongs.
The Committee to Protect the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Their Families is a body established in 2004 whose main task is to carry out periodic reviews to evaluate Member States.
Also, monitor compliance with the rights and standards set forth in the Convention through reviewing reports, receiving individual communications and investigations.
Despite the deliberate campaigns to discredit Venezuela and the constant accusations of alleged human rights abuses by some nations, the Bolivarian government and its institutions have reaffirmed their commitment to defending these rights, employing programs and strategies to consolidate them inside and outside the South American nation.
