Star defensive end JJ Watt has announced he will play for the Arizona Cardinals this afternoon, despite having his heart “put back into rhythm” just three days ago.
The 33-year-old broke the bombshell news on Twitter just hours before taking the field against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, claiming he only shared it because it had been leaked to the media.

Watt shared the news with his 5.6million followers just hours before Sunday’s big game
“I went to A-Fib [Atrial fibrillation] on Wednesday, my heart was back on track on Thursday and I’m playing today. That’s it.’
Watt is currently in his second season with the Cardinals and appears to have been medically fit for the North Carolina game for the Week 4 matchup.
The former Houston Texans star missed practice Wednesday and Thursday for what the Cardinals described as a “calf/illness” in their injury report.
According to the CDC, atrial fibrillation — commonly referred to as “A-Fib” or AF — “is when the heart beats too slowly, too fast, or irregularly.”
