Moderator Xuxa Meneghel posted a video on social media to dismiss President Bolsonaro (PL)’s speeches about Venezuelan teenagers living in São Sebastião in the Federal District. “I’m disgusted,” the presenter commented.

“Traditional or nontraditional family: don’t shut up, don’t accept, vote against this gentleman,” Xuxa wrote in the caption of the post created this Wednesday (10/19). “I’m disgusted. There is sexual exploitation. I won’t shut up. I’m asking you not to leave this blank. Don’t vote for this man. He will never have my vote.”

“No 14 or 15yearold girl prostitutes herself. That’s exploitation.”

Xuxa was heavily attacked by Bolsonaristas for starring in the movie Amor Estranho Amor earlier in her career. The feature film by Walter Hugo Khouri, released in 1982, deals with the issue of the sexual exploitation of children. Supporters of the President have taken to social media to criticize the presenter, claiming that the film promotes pedophilia when it is not.

“The narrator here is not the girl who played the role in the film. I am here as a presenter, daughter, wife and mother. I wanted to make it clear to you that no 14 or 15 year old girl is a prostitute. That’s exploitation,” Xuxa said.

In the same video, the “Queen of Little Ones” personally tells how she was sexually abused as a child. “Rather than pointing fingers at these old people, our culture blames girls for being in this place and this way,” he said.

The presenter also criticized President Jair Bolsonaro’s speech, who claimed to have painted an atmosphere featuring Venezuelan teenagers and that they “would make a living” by insinuating that the girls were call girls. “No 13 and 14 year olds are prostitutes. This is sexual exploitation.”

Meneghel had previously condemned the President’s speech in another post. “I made a film, that is FICTION, and I am called a pedophile by Bolsominions. And this gentleman says he’s “painting a mood” with a 13/14 year old girl (not a movie is it?) and what’s his name???” he posted.

Xuxa stressed that Bolsonaro’s speech cannot be forgotten, recalling Damares’ testimony on cases of sexual exploitation on the island of Marajó. The senatorelect reported allegations of child sex tourism in the Pará region without evidence or complaints to prosecutors. “This will continue in our country as long as people who know through photos, as happened with the minister (referring to Damares), do not denounce it. I really ask people to report it,” Xuxa appealed in the video.
