His condition could be at the root of the tragedy, when the 29-year-old man allegedly stabbed both of his parents, his loved ones believe.

Wayne Arnott, 60, and Louise Boucher, 65, were found bleeding at their home on Rue des Érables in Montreal late that evening. Shortly before, her son had gone to the hospital covered in blood and claimed it was more his parents who had attacked him.

Premeditated Murder

But in the end, the young man was charged with two counts of first degree murder at the Montreal courthouse on Thursday.

For a little over a year, he has been angry with his father since he accused him of having a relationship with his ex-girlfriend.

In the summer of 2021, the two men even fought in front of the family’s home.

Mitchell Arnott was subsequently charged with assault and threats. Although he was acquitted a few months later, his animosity towards his father did not go away.

Arnott has also reportedly been involved in disturbing behavior towards his ex-wife, Shiela Marie Gabule, including following her and going to her home against her will.

One evening he even built a small cemetery in front of his house.

Out of concern for her safety, Ms Gabule had applied for an injunction preventing him from contacting and approaching her shortly after their separation.

“He was extremely jealous and he was convinced that his father and I were in a relationship,” says the young woman, still worried about the situation. He even thought I was pregnant with him. He wanted to buy a gun to kill him.

Disturbing video

He also mentioned it in a video posted to YouTube in March 2021, in which he makes disturbing remarks.

“I felt like I needed a gun to defend myself, so I started looking for a gun. But when I realized that no one would give me a gun, I went to the police and told them, “Look, I want a gun legally so I don’t get in trouble with the law.” […] We talked and they asked me if I would agree to go to the lake shore with them [hôpital].”

The Arnott family is well known in the West Island for founding Bluenose, a shop that sells sports cards and other collectibles, among other things. Wayne Arnott had taken over the reins of the company.

Inconceivably

“It’s a tragedy. A huge shock to our family,” said Brian Arnott, the victim’s brother. It will take us a while to digest this. We knew Mitchell had mental health issues, but we could have one result could never imagine.

Earlier this week, Kamaljit Arora reportedly killed his two children, aged 11 and 13, and strangled his wife at the family home in Laval. According to our information, the 45-year-old father was also psychiatrically monitored.
