It comes like Russia invasion of Ukraine is intensifying as forces destroy the port city of Mariupol and take over Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

There are also fears that there may be about 100 people buried in the rubble after a rocket attack on an apartment in the town of Boradyanka, 30 miles from Kyiv.

Women and children were taught to make weapons and today they were photographed learning to use weapons.

The photos were taken during a civil self-defense course on the outskirts of Lviv, Ukraine, and show women and children aiming at AK-47s and machine guns as shown to work.

For weeks now, ordinary citizens across the country have been receiving basic combat training for everything from handling weapons to making Molotov incendiary cocktails to throwing grenades.

Thousands of civilians took up arms to defend their country from Russian forces.

In Kyiv, as the country’s capital prepared for attacks, Anastasia Lena, a former Miss Ukraine, was depicted with a huge rifle full of pink sights, as she warned in an Instagram post: “Anyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intention of invading he will be killed! ‘

The viral image came amid reports of long queues of citizens waiting to be issued weapons in the capital.

Ukrainians living abroad even flew home to join “territorial defense units” – which had been trained by the military in wooded or abandoned areas on the outskirts of cities.

The newly trained forces were spotted guarding piles of tires at checkpoints in the capital, Kyiv, and patrolling empty streets.

Most wear street clothes with yellow armbands to identify them as volunteer soldiers.

They were trained to drop their weapons by military instructors in early February as Russia prepared to invade as part of the government’s “Don’t Panic, Get Ready” campaign.

Countless heroic Ukrainian civilians have been filmed fighting Russian forces, with an unarmed group seen blocking a tank from entering the town of Koryukivka in the Chernihiv region after forming a human barrier on the street.

Russian troops reportedly asked for directions when Ukrainians stormed the tank to keep it from moving toward Kyiv.
