Officers and soldiers of the Cienfuegos (RM) Military Region who took part in the reconstruction efforts in the sister province of Pinar del Río following the passage of Hurricane Ian were recognized by the party, the government and the people at large for their full compliance with such an honorable Mission.
The young fighters, who belong to the Brigadier José González Guerra contingent, stayed for 21 days in the Pinar del Río community in San Luis, where they cleaned up and collected solid waste in educational centers, health centers and other public spaces.

In another part of his speech, he echoed the words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz when he said: “Believing in young people is not simply looking at young people with the contempt that adults often look at young people; To believe in young people means to see in them, besides enthusiasm, ability, besides energy, responsibility (…), purity, heroism, character, will, love of the motherland, belief in the revolution, self-confidence. Trust (…)” .
Precisely because of the same qualities pointed out by the historical leader, the testimonies of Soldier Rafael Alvarado Santana and First Lieutenant Ernesto del Sol Pera affirm altruism and a willingness to stand side by side with the compatriots concerned as worthy representatives of the Revolutionary Armed Forces , the uniformed people as described by the Lord of the Vanguard, Commander Camilo Cienfuegos.
“Not only did we arrive there to restore order and cleanliness with physical exertion, we also went to convey love and were bearers of a donation on behalf of the Central Army, a gesture appreciated by the families harmed by the ravages of the meteorological event,” argued the young officer.
