Comedians Mathieu Cyr and Olivier Martineau will be teaming up next year for a brand new tour together: Before the World Ends, which will see the light of day in January 2023.

The two comedians have been looking for the right time to work together on a project for some time. The stars have finally been aligning lately: with Mathieu Cyr’s tour just wrapped up and Olivier Martineau’s coming to an end, their respective schedules were finally breezy.
The concept then came to mind, as did the motto for this tour: stand out from the crowd.
“There are so many new comedy shows coming out regularly. It’s great fun, that’s for sure. But we increasingly have to find a way to differentiate ourselves if we want to fill our spaces,” Mathieu Cyr told the Journal.
So that’s exactly what they intend to do with Before the End of the World, both in terms of content and form. Because the two accomplices will stage nothing less than the apocalypse in the rooms they will pass. Your parterre will thus represent the only survivors of this end of the world (fictitious, let us specify), the time of an evening embroidered around traditional humor but also sketches and songs.
More fun than engaged
Don’t think that Mathieu Cyr and Olivier Martineau will take this opportunity to ridicule war, global warming or any other possible cause of this apocalypse. The two accomplices have no intention of lecturing their viewers or downplaying such important issues.
“We want to get away from reality, so it’s safe to say we won’t do political humor. I’m not saying we don’t make a gag about the current situation when we have a super good Blitz, but we want to be funny and irreverent rather than committed,” says Mathieu Cyr.
It is therefore near the Zénith de Saint-Eustache that Before the End of the World will take off next January. We also know that the tour will stop near Brossard at Club Dix30 in March. The other dates will be announced each week on the comedians’ social networks.
Why? To “feed the buzz”, advance Mathieu Cyr. But also to stay in tune with the theme of their show.
“We’re talking about the end of the world. It would be a bit nono to plan too far ahead, wouldn’t it? he falls over laughing.
