Camilla de Lucas makes her acting debut in a Netflix original title

Camilla de Lucas was hired by Netflix after being fired from Globo. The Big Brother Brasil 21 runnerup joined The Masked Singer as a backstage reporter but was fired after one season. Now she is preparing her debut as an actress in the film The Bright Side of Being Betrayed.

As soon as she finished appearing on the 21st edition of the BBB, the digital influencer signed a deal to work at the same network that owned reality and was cast as a reporter on The Masked Singer. After the first season of the music program, Camila was replaced by firstyear champion singer Priscilla Alcantara.

At that time, De Lucas’s advice said that although she was still an employee of the company, the influencer no longer did any work for the broadcaster.

“News in the programs are normal and obey artistic decisions. Especially with musical realities, the renewal of jurors and moderators is part of the dynamic,” said Globo Communications at the beginning of the year.

Alongside the protagonists Giovanna Lancelloti and Leandro Lima, Camilla made her acting debut in O Lado Bom de Ser Traída, a Netflix Original title. The feature, based on the book by Sue Hecker, the pseudonym of Brazilian writer Debora Gastaldo, is a bestseller with more than 16 million ebooks read.

The film tells the story of Babi (Giovanna), a betrayed woman who has destroyed her dream of getting married and decides to cut herself off from other relationships. The fastpaced plot takes a different direction when she finally falls in love and puts herself at the center of a risky competition.

The Good Side of Being Betrayed is directed by Diego Freitas, who recently premiered the film After the Universe. The screenplay was written by Camila Raffanti, in collaboration with series veteran Davi Kolb, Bom Dia, Verônica. Filming is taking place in the cities of São Paulo and Ilhabela on the São Paulo coast, and the feature film has no premiere date yet.
