A Cuban man who works as a gardener has been arrested in Miami-Dade on charges of dumping rubbish at an unauthorized location.
Authorities had been monitoring the property for several months where the suspect, identified as Ovany Díaz, was dumping garbage without the necessary permits.
Díaz disposed of the garbage generated by his work on his own property, according to America Tevé magazine, citing police sources.
At the property on Nov. 28, police found — upon production of a search warrant — 585 cubic feet of plant debris, as well as two other long piles of trash measuring about 149,000 cubic feet.
Police also found a trailer containing human excrement on the ground.
Ovany Díaz faces three criminal charges for dumping garbage in an unauthorized location, failing to obtain an environmental permit and harassing health.
Public documents show the defendant was released after posting $500 bail.
At the end of this note, further official details about the case are unknown.
