Havana, November 30 (RHC) The Cuban Government and the European Union -EU- confirmed in Havana the vitality of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement -ADPC- between our country and the Community bloc, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reported this Wednesday.

According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to this crucial tool of bilateral relations during a meeting with Javier Niño, Deputy Director General for the Americas at the European External Action Service.

Javier Niño is leading a delegation from the bloc involved in holding dialogues on sectoral policies and the III. participating in the Cuba-EU Joint Committee, which coincides with the fifth year of the ADPC’s provisional implementation.

Cuba and the EU reinvigorated ties in 2016 with the signing of the ADPC, ending 20 years of the so-called Common Position that made the community bloc’s relations contingent on demands deemed unacceptable by the island.

This agreement made it possible to intensify cooperation and opened up opportunities for exchanges on issues of common interest such as human rights, unilateral coercive measures and sustainable development. (font: Latin Press).
