‘It came out wrong!’ Jennifer Lawrence GOES BACK and claims she is the first female action hero

Jennifer Lawrence clarifies her recent claim that she was the first woman to be cast as the lead in an action film, though Sigourney Weaver and Angelina Jolie were franchise bosses long before her.

In a statement to THR, the Oscar-winner said her comment “came the wrong way” to express how “good it feels” to be a female force in an action movie.

“I certainly didn’t mean to say that. I know I’m not the only woman who has ever directed an action movie,” began Jennifer, who famously played Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movies.

“What I wanted to emphasize was how good it feels. And that’s what I meant by Viola – to blow past those old myths you hear about… about the gibberish you’d hear about something like that. But it was my fault and it came out wrong. I had nerve talking to a living legend.

She made the bizarre claim during a meeting with Academy Award winner Viola Davis as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series.
