When a grandmother visited her two grandchildren on December 16, she found that her granddaughter had been abused and her grandson was missing. After the police were alerted, law enforcement discovered the boy’s decomposing body.
Karen has been fighting for custody of her two six-year-old grandchildren for a year. This Friday, December 16, after receiving visitation rights, she went to Moro, Arkansas, to the home of her mother, Ashley Roland, 28, who is cohabiting with Nathan Bridges, 33.
Arriving at the house, she found her six-year-old granddaughter in a terrible condition, her hair had been cut off, she could barely walk and looked very thin. His absent grandson was staying with a friend, according to his mother. According to the New York Post, Karen took her granddaughter to the hospital.
Macabre discovery
Doctors determined that the child’s body was covered with numerous burns that had more or less healed, that he was malnourished and that several ribs were broken. The grandmother informed the police, who immediately began looking for the boy. Unfortunately, they discovered the decomposing body of the young child buried under the floor in the hallway of his mother’s house.
“Preliminary information is that the boy died from injuries he may have sustained at home three months ago,” the Arkansas Department of Public Safety said. Pending the full autopsy results, the couple were arrested and charged with murder, abusing a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a minor.
