Lacey Chabert on Candace Cameron Bure’s statement that Hallmark is ‘completely different’ due to ‘leadership change’

Lacey Chabert is one of the stars of the Hallmark Channel and has been on over 35 projects for the network. The Party of Five graduate isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, either, and she says she’s “found a real home in Hallmark.”

“I’m more able to be who I am here than possibly anywhere else I’ve worked,” Chabert Vulture said in an interview.

However, stars like Candace Cameron Bure have fled Hallmark to join the Great American Family. The former Full House star revealed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that she moved away from Hallmark after “the leadership change” and it’s become “a completely different network than when I started my career.”

Bure also mentioned that GAF would keep “the traditional marriage at the core” of its stories, prompting significant backlash. That comment came as Hallmark was producing its first Christmas film with a same-sex couple at its core.

Unlike Bure, Chabert is in favor of embracing Hallmark’s changes, saying, “Every change I’ve felt has embraced our creative ideas. And it’s my responsibility to the audience that continues to watch my films that I give the best I have to offer. That’s always my mission. I will never give up what Hallmark means to me, it’s all about the heart. I don’t think there are any plans for that to change any time soon.”

As for the former Hallmark actors who went on to join the Great American Family, the Mean Girls alum said, “You know what, I wish everyone the best. I really can’t comment further, other than that I care about everyone involved.”

Chabert was silent on whether Great American Family had tried to lure her over from Hallmark.

“I’m at Hallmark and I work for them. I’m so sorry, but I just have to leave it at that,” she said.
