Bears quarterback Justin Fields announced after the game that he sustained his injured non-throwing shoulder in Saturday’s loss to the Bills. He added that he stepped on one foot late and couldn’t carry the full weight, but he expects to be “well fit” for Week 17.

Bears coach Matt Eberflus was asked if Fields’ injuries could rule him out against the Lions.

“Absolutely not,” Eberflus said Monday of ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.

Fields originally injured his left shoulder in Week 11, and the quarterback said team medical staff told him it would be a “year-round injury.” He plans to play it through.

“He’s ready to go,” said Eberflus. “He is healthy. He’s ready for this week.”

The Bears were eliminated from the playoffs after Week 13 and have lost eight straight games. However, Eberflus said he sees value in Fields playing the last two games.

“Because we have to get better,” said Eberflus. “We want to improve. We want to see where we are. Those last two games are important. They are division opponents for us, very important for our football team to see the competition, to see guys compete against our division. I think it’s important for every man; it is important for each unit; and it is important for our entire football team.”
