Were you looking for an original program on this day of the presidential election? So why not take a short snowshoe hike to the top of Mézenc? But don’t wait too long, because the snow that fell on the massif from 1,300 meters in the evening of Saturday April 23 should not last much longer at the end of April…
In pictures, this Sunday morning
By dawn Sunday, there was nothing left in the town of Chaudeyrolles, and a few inches of “soup” still lay in the streets of Estables. This Sunday morning at the Croix de Boutières.
On the Croix de Peccata and the Croix de Boutières, however, there was 7 to 8 cm of very heavy snow (about 10 cm on Saturday at nightfall).
A late autumn, not uncommon at this altitude, still called “snow of the cuckoo”, that last snow of spring.

And that three weeks after the snow episode, which may have surprised by its intensity, on the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd.
Pretty winter landscapes in the Estables woods.
On the way to the Cross of Peccata.
In Chaudeyrolles on the RD 274 on Sunday morning. Above left: Mount Signon.
At the Col de la Croix de Boutières, in the Ardèche town of Borée.A brave few stayed at the Nordic Area car park in Estables.A very heavy spring snow that will hardly hold.
Two remote farms in Chaudeyrolles, with the Dents du Diable in the background in the mist.
