Inside Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch’s stunning beach vow renewal in the Maldives

Love was in the air for Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch as they kissed passionately after renewing their vows 11 years after their first marriage.

Not keen on the cold climes of Britain, the couple flew to a private island in the Maldives with their four children and family last month to declare their love for one another.

Pictures from the stunning ceremony show the daring lace dress worn by Abbey, 36, which gave Pete “butterflies” as she walked down the aisle.

The mother of four shunned famous designers, opting for her friend and dressmaker Silvia to create the stunning gown.

Crafted from vintage lace and completely sheer, the plunging number was a bold move for Abbey, who left little to the imagination as her lingerie was visible beneath the dress.

In a stunning wedding shot shot by Hello! Magazine, Peter, walking barefoot in the sand, swept his wife off her feet as he kissed her on the lips as the sun set behind them – a nod to a photo taken during their 2011 wedding in Leicester.

Like her previous bouquet, Abbey had white roses, but this time she added eucalyptus branches.

The couple married on December 17 at the Anantara Dhigu Maldives resort, where villa prices range from £700 to £5,000 a night.

“We started together as a young couple and now we are here with our four children leading us down the aisle. I feel like the happiest person alive,” Abbey told the publication.

“We wanted to renew our vows on our 10th anniversary but with lockdown we couldn’t do that… Pete is quite romantic at heart; He’s definitely earned brownie points for years to come.’

Peter gushed: “Abbey looked amazing and even after 11 years I still got butterflies when she walked down the aisle, it was a stunning island but Ab stole the show – I’m a lucky man.”

The couple married at the Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire in 2011, two years after announcing their engagement.

In a nod to their wedding, Abbey and Pete renewed their vows under an arch of white roses before the party was treated to traditional Maldivian appetizers, followed by a surf and turf main course.

Peter and Abbey started dating in 2006 but split briefly during the European Cup, with the footballer releasing a statement at the time.

The statement said: “Although I do not normally comment on matters relating to my personal life, I have recently read with dismay various articles and reports regarding my ‘relationship’ with Abbey Clancy.

“In light of this, I want to make the situation absolutely clear: Abbey and I were in the very early stages of a relationship which I decided to end a few weeks ago for a number of reasons and have informed Abbey accordingly of my decision.’
