A date has already been set for the negotiations to end the ACTORS’ strike in Hollywood

O SAGAFTRA (American Screen Actors Guild) is taking steps to end the Hollywood actors’ strike. In a recent announcement, the union confirmed that it will hold the first meeting for a new round of negotiations with the union AMPTP (Cinema and TV Producers Alliance) next Monday, the day October 2nd. (via Deadline)

This message comes afterwards AMPTP have reached an agreement with the WGA (Hollywood Screenwriters Union) to end the screenwriters’ strike and provide relief to the entertainment industry.

It is expected that negotiations between the SAGAFTRA and that AMPTP Resolve outstanding issues and allow Hollywood to resume normal activities after nearly five months of closure.

It is the first time in 63 years that both categories have come together in a strike.

The screenwriters complained about wages falling due to inflation and also called for protection from growing competition from artificial intelligence.

The actors are also calling for regulation of AI and an increase in socalled residual earnings that result from participation in old films and series available on digital platforms.
