Former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Reilly was placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers and claimed by the New York Islanders on Saturday.
His adventure with Sunrise only lasted a few months. After being acquired by the Boston Bruins, the 30-year-old guard was an unrestricted free agent last summer, signing a one-season contract worth $1 million with the Florida club.

During his short time with the Cats, Reilly did not record a point in two games. He previously played three seasons for Boston, between the 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 seasons.
In his career, the 98th pick in the 2011 draft collected 98 points in 341 games with the Panthers, Bruins, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild.
